Youth

Our Mission

Here at MiddleCross Church, we challenge youth to live a life of abundance, fully surrendered to Christ.

What does that mean?

Wait just one minute...life of abundance/fully surrendered - aren't those two phrases in conflict with each other?

A life of abundace

In Jesus' own words, he said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10) Christ came to this earth, lived, died, and rose from the dead to give you life. He didn't go through all of that to restrict you with rules, to bog you down with traditions and details. He did it because he loves you and wants a relationship with you, one in which He is able to show you how to live a FREE and FULL life.

Fully surrendered

In order to take hold of that life which Jesus wants to show you, you must be willing to follow Him. Remember, I said he wants a relationship, that means that the two of you spend time together.

Think of it this way. Say you are an inexperienced outdoorsman. You accept the invitation of a friend, who just so happens to be a professional guide, to spend a weekend rock climbing and white water rafting. You wouldn't go off and try to do those dangerous activities your own way, would you? No, you would submit your will to the expertise of your friend and guide. My friends, you are already on the rapids called LIFE. Trust the guidance of your friend, Jesus.

The two pieces go hand in hand. By surrendering our lives to Him, we free ourselves to experience the fullness of what He has in store for us. Join me on this adventure!
